AMAZONIA -1 satellite

of  BRAZIL

The Indian Space Research Organisation  (ISRO) gets ready for launch of Amazonia-1 satellite of country BRAZIL using the successful rocket version called Polar Satellite Launch Vechile (PSLV). This Amazonia-1 is Brazilian satellite which is locally designed, assembled and tested in Brazil and will be the first satellite for earth observation.

INDIA-BRAZIL space cooperation

1. At the sixth BRICS summit in 2014, the two developing countries - India and Brazil had an agreement setting up a Brazilian earth station to receive data from the Indian satellite.
2. The Brazilian scientists are getting training at the ISRO facility for operating the station and gathering data through remote sensing.
3. India also gets tracking support from ground stations located in Alcantara and Cuiaba , in Brazil. This tracking support is for Indian satellites and other space programs and missions. Satellites includes CHANDRAYAN-1, MOM (Mars Orbiter Mission), and ASTROSAT.

The purpose behind launch of Amazonia-1 on PSLV rocket is that the images from Brazilian satellite i.e; AMAZONIA-1 will help in observing and monitoring the deforestation of the Amazon region.

It's very important to have satellite observation on Amazon region due to recent fires. This images also be helpful for agricultural and vegetation areas.

We know ISRO is one list of the successful government space agency in space programs and missions. So different countries have been coming to ISRO for launching their satellite.

Many South American countries have been reaching out to ISRO through Indian missions. ISRO big and small mission in space sectors and their success attracted many countries across from the globe even developed countries.

Several other countries staying away from China and have been reaching to India, ISRO.
